We all know what a fun and beautiful place the Grand Strand is to live today but how did this all come about? Horry County Museum Assistant Director Marian Calder be taking the stage to present a program that will detail the early development of the Grand Strand. She will review the struggles with transportation and the eventual transition of Myrtle Beach from a quite community with summer cottages to a thriving tourism destination today. Marian will share photos and little-known facts about the area and how it has become the beautiful bustling beach of today. One lucky audience member will receive a Myrtle Beach themed gift.
